Sunny Sundays: Lots Of Fun For Kids at German Maifest

Phoenix Club MaifestWhat a happy Sunday! Today was Maifest and Kinderfest at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim, with lots of dance performances, a dance around the Maypole, tons of kids activities and a German kids theater performance. Everything from a bouncy house to making bird houses was available to do for the kiddos, and all for free!

Several dance groups performed inside the Festhalle, the big tent on the festival ground. Amongst them were the Youth Dance Group of the Phoenix Club. Everyone 3 to 18 is welcome to join this group, girls and boys alike. Practice is every Saturday at 1 at the Phoenix Club and performances are throughout the year. For more information, please contact the Phoenix Club through their Facebook page or just show up at the Phoenix Club’s Pavillion for dance practice!

Adults enjoyed some German brats and beer or coffee and traditional pastries. And as always, the Karneval Club (German Mardi Gras) made German potato pancakes, which did sell like hot pancakes!

  1. How cool is that? I live right down the road and didn’t realize that was going on there. I am oging to have to get a schedule for events at the Phoenix Club. Thanks

  2. I really want to take my kids there one day…. I remember going regularly while in Saturday German school as a little girl. My daughter has my old dirndl in fact! Thanks for the post!

I love hearing from you - Please share your thoughts!
