The weather is warm, spring is here – it’s time for Maifest/Kinderfest at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim! It’s a fun family day with lots of fun for the kids. There’ll be arts and crafts stations, pony rides, a bouncy castle and much more. Parents get to enjoy traditional German cuisine and some good beer in the Biergarten!
While you’re having fun with friends on the grounds or inside the large, ventilated tent, you’ll get to enjoy special performances by several traditional groups. The German American School will perform a song, The Gemuetliche Schuhplattler and the Phoenix Club’s Youth Dance Group and the Donauschwaben Dance Group will be dancing.
The Express Band (think Oktoberfest!) will be playing all day and the dance floor is always open.
A special treat is in store for the kids: A theater performance by Christof and Vadislava Altmann called “Der Loewe Lacht” = The Lion’s Laughing.
The program will be all in English, even though it maintains the traditional German spirit. You’ll feel amongst friends when traditional dances will be performed around the Maypole, while you sit with a cold drink and your family and cheer. Admission is only $5 per person!
