Who has used Google today? THAT is what the logo is about. If you look closely, you can read “google” between all the women’s faces.
Now frankly, I don’t know how much I like the image… and some of these women don’t really look like women. And I can kind of see Wreck It Ralph there in the middle on the bottom… But nonetheless, I guess it’s a nice way to say: We don’t all have to be models, nor should we be. OR it’s a nice way to say: We’re all beautiful exactly the way we are.
What comes to mind immediately is the new Dove Beauty campaign. They were advertising a Photoshop add-on that, with one click, would make an entire picture more beautiful. (It added a glow to the model in the picture) When you installed it and tried to implement the glow, instead of adding the glow, it would undo all the changes you had made to your model – aka it would put her back in her proper body state. And then a message appeared from Dove.

Nicely done. We shouldn’t teach our kids they need to be super skinny and there can’t be one flaw on them. That’s the stuff that makes us unique, ladies! I personally don’t want to look like a model. What good does it do me to look like everyone else? Why would we WANT to look like everyone else?
Embrace your inner beauty, pass it on to your daughters, your nieces, your granddaughters. Let’s become women of inner beauty and value each other for what’s truly important!
Happy International Women’s Day, everyone!
